Ingredients
2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
2 tablespoons packed brown sugar
1 tablespoon white sugar
1 large egg yolk
½ teaspoon vanilla extract
⅓ cup + 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
⅛ teaspoon baking soda
Pinch of salt
¼ cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
Step 1 – Preheat the air fryer: Preheat air fryer to 350°F for even baking and crispy edges.
Step 2 – Mix sugars and butter: In a bowl, mix melted butter, brown sugar, and white sugar until smooth.
Step 3 – Add egg yolk and vanilla: Stir in the egg yolk and vanilla extract until fully combined.
Step 4 – Incorporate dry ingredients: Add flour, baking soda, and salt to the mixture. Stir until a soft dough forms.
Step 5 – Add chocolate chips: Fold in chocolate chips evenly throughout the dough.
Step 6 – Shape the dough: Form dough into a ball and press into a 4-inch round.
Step 7 – Prepare air fryer basket: Line air fryer basket with parchment paper and place the dough inside.
Step 8 – Air fry the cookie: Air fry for 5–6 minutes. Check at 5 minutes for set edges and soft center.
Step 9 – Let it rest: Let the cookie rest in the air fryer basket for 3–4 minutes to finish cooking through.
Notes
Use parchment paper to prevent sticking and over-browning.
Don’t skip the rest time—it ensures a soft, chewy center.
Customize with add-ins like chopped nuts, cocoa powder, or candy pieces.
